The NAR Center for REALTOR® Technology (CRT) announced last year at the NAR Conference & Expo that it would be giving the 1st annual REALTOR® Technology Spotlight Award this year. Nominations were accepted until August 31, 2009, and hundreds were received. HAR’s own Chief Technology Officer Taqi Rizvi has been announced as the first ever recipient of the award in the “Visionary” category.
The award honors REALTOR® family members and their direct support staff who have shown excellence & a visionary use of technology. From you and your creative use of technology to the staff person who makes your Web site stand out to the individual who keeps your servers running effectively so that the REALTOR® members shine in their day-to-day business...this is an opportunity to celebrate them!
The award goals are to:
(1) recognize those who have implemented, created or embraced technology in a way that shows understanding of the medium and therefore puts them in a ‘best in class’ category
(2) disseminate innovative and effective strategies to accomplish this, and
(3) increase awareness within the real estate industry of technology trends & promote innovation.
These individuals set the technology benchmark for our industry, and provide one more reason why REALTORS® are better prepared to serve the consumer.
Among Taqi’s included achievements are:
• Leading the world-class HAR consumer Web site to new heights since its creation in 1997
• HAR.com receives more than 1 million unique visitors every month
• These visits generate more than 900,000 annual leads to HAR members and click-through referrals to agent and broker Web sites with an estimated annual value of $11.2 million
• HAR.com ranks among the 25 most frequently visited real estate sites in the country; it is the only local Web site to have achieved this milestone multiple times
• It is the number one real estate Web site in the greater Houston area, according to comScore Media Metrix
• NAR has recognized HAR.com as “Outstanding Web site” in 2003, 2004, 2006, 2007 and 2008
• Creation of MLSCloud.com, which brought together MLS public Web sites representing nearly 600,000
REALTORS® across the country
• The development of more than 80 tools currently being used by consumers and members
