| Michael Lewis Stearns |
|
|
Michael Stearns, co-owner of Stearns Property Co. since 1980, died unexpectedly on November 18, 2006, in Houston. He is survived by his wife, Winnie Stearns, Broker/Owner; son, Troy Stearns; daughter, Kelli Farrias; and six grandchildren. Mike graduated from the U.S. Air Force Academy, and obtained his law degree and accounting degree from the University of Houston. Mike was about as red-blooded an American as you could find, yet always mild-mannered, soft spoken, and almost shy in his demeanor. You would never guess that he was a war hero, a decorated combat aviator, and fearsome warrior. He volunteered for some of the most dangerous aviation combat duty in the CIA as a member of the famous Ravens and the Rustics in Vietnam! Among his medals are three purple hearts, three distinctive flying crosses and nine air medals.More
