Harris County Public Improvement Bonds
The HAR Board of Directors recommends to its members to vote FOR the following Harris County Public Improvement Bonds in the November 6 election.
Proposition One
The issuance of $190,000,000 Harris County Road Bonds and the levying of the tax in payment thereof.
Proposition Two
The issuance of $95,000,000 Harris County park bonds and the levying of the tax in payment thereof.
Proposition Three
The issuance of $195,000,000 Harris County bonds for a central processing and adult detention center and the levying of the tax in payment thereof.
Proposition Four
The issuance of $80,000,000 Harris County bonds for a medical examiner’s forensic center and the levying of the tax in payment thereof.
Proposition Five
The issuance of $70,000,000 Harris County bonds for a family law center and the levying of the tax in payment thereof.
Proposition Six
The issuance of $250,000,000 Port of Houston Authority bonds for port improvements (including related transportation facilities, security facilities and environmental enhancements) to provide economic development and the levying of the tax in payment thereof.
Constitutional Amendments
The HAR Board of Directors recommends to its members to vote FOR the followingconstitutional amendments in the November 6 election.
Proposition 6
“The constitutional amendment authorizing the legislature to exempt from ad valorem taxation one motor vehicle owned by an individual and used in the course of the owner’s occupation or profession and also for personal activities of the owner.”
Proposition 7
“The constitutional amendment to allow governmental entities to sell property acquired through eminent domain back to the previous owners at the price the entities paid to acquire the property.”
Proposition 9
“The constitutional amendment authorizing the legislature to exempt all or part of the residence homesteads of certain totally disabled veterans from ad valorem taxation and authorizing a change in the manner of determining the amount of the existing exemption from ad valorem taxation to which a disabled veteran is entitled.”
