| Political Impacts |

Vicki Fullerton, HAR Chair

One of my favorite times of the year is when REALTORS® from across the country make the trek to Washington, D.C., as part of the annual mid-year meetings and legislative visits. I love it not only because it is such an amazing opportunity to see the impact that REALTORS® have on the political process, but also because I have the chance to see so many friends I have made from all over the U.S. I am especially proud that a record 80 HAR members traveled this past month to help make the REALTOR® voice heard. And it was.

| Meet the Winners of the TREPAC Saves You Money Sweepstakes |
Bridget Crowley with Bayou City Lights Properties, January 2009 Winner.
During the annual HAR Dues Billing Process, HAR encourages members to also make their annual TREPAC investment as a convenient way of doing both at the same time. Also during this time, HAR promotes our annual TREPAC Saves You Money Sweepstakes. Every investor is automatically entered into the sweepstakes at the time of their investment. It is one entry for every $35 or three entries for $99. This means that a $250 investor receives 7 entries and that a $1000 investor received 30 entries. Every month, one winner is chosen and receives a $300 gift card.

| Pathways to Professionalism |
While the Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice of the National Association establishes objective, enforceable ethical standards governing the professional conduct of REALTORS®, it does not address issues of courtesy or etiquette. Based on input from many sources, the Professional Conduct Working Group of the Professional Standards Committee developed the following list of professional courtesies for use by REALTORS® on a voluntary basis. This list is not all-inclusive, and may be supplemented by local custom and practice.

It was really just a matter of time before American business would discover that social media, long touted as a way to keep friends in touch, would show its unsocial side. Charlene Li and Josh Bernoff's recent book, Groundswell, provided a clear warning signal. They point out that in any social media situation, 18 percent of the participants are creative and contributory while 25 percent are critical (ergo there will be more critics than contributors).
