Marking the grand opening of the first 1.5 miles of the Cypress Creek Nature Trail, Bridgeland, an 11,400-acre master-planned community in Cypress, Texas, is hosting its first annual Nature Fest, September 27-28, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday. The Cypress Creek Nature Trail is set along the historic Cypress Creek Corridor, a 1,000-acre nature area and creek system bordering the northern edge of the Bridgeland community.
Free and open to the public, the two-day event celebrates nature, conservation and the trail. It promises to be one “wild” adventure for participants. Foot-tapping music and other staged performances will entertain families at Bridgeland’s Oak Meadow Park. Local restaurants and concessionaires will sell mouth-watering goodies. More than 25 nature-oriented exhibitors will offer a multitude of activities along with news and information about ecology and conservation in the area. Other activities for visitors to enjoy will include nature-themed arts and crafts; a ladybug release; a birds of prey educational program with live hawks and owls; a fishing clinic; a disc golf demonstration; pony rides; and a petting zoo, along with news and information about ecology and conservation in the area. The ZooMobile also will be on hand.
